G4u (Ghost for Unix) http://www.feyrer.de/g4u/ g4u ("ghosting for unix") is a NetBSD-based bootfloppy/CD-ROM that allows easy cloning of PC harddisks to deploy a common setup on a number of PCs using FTP. The floppy/CD offers two functions. The first is to upload the compressed image of a local harddisk to a FTP server, the other is to restore that image via FTP, uncompress it and write it back to disk. Network configuration is fetched via DHCP. As the harddisk is processed as an image, any filesystem and operating system can be deployed using g4u. Easy cloning of local disks as well as partitions is also supported. 8.1 special system
IMUNES http://imunes.net/ We developed a realistic network topology emulation / simulation framework based on the FreeBSD and Linux operating system kernel partitioned into multiple lightweight virtual nodes, which can be interconnected via kernel-level links to form arbitrarily complex network topologies. 8.1 special system
Memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/ Based on the well-known original memtest86 written by Chris Brady, memtest86+ is a port by some members of the x86-secret team. Our goal is to provide an up-to-date and completly reliable version of this software tool aimed at memory failures detection. Memtest86+ was, is and will always be a free, open-source software. 8.1 special system
PassMark Memtest86 http://www.memtest86.com/index.html MemTest86 is the original, free, stand alone memory testing software for x86 computers. MemTest86 boots from a USB flash drive or CD and tests the RAM in your computer for faults using a series of comprehensive algorithms and test patterns. 8.1 special system

SystemRescue CD https://www.system-rescue-cd.org/SystemRescueCd_Homepage SystemRescueCd is a Linux system rescue disk available as a bootable CD-ROM or USB stick for administrating or repairing your system and data after a crash. It aims to provide an easy way to carry out admin tasks on your computer, such as creating and editing the hard disk partitions. It comes with a lot of Linux system utilities such as GParted, fsarchiver, filesystem tools and basic tools (editors, midnight commander, network tools). It can be used for both Linux, Unix and Microsoft Windows computers, and on desktops as well as servers. 8.1 special system
VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) http://www.vmware.com/products/vsphere-hypervisor VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) is the latest hypervisor architecture from VMware. It has an ultra-thin architecture with no reliance on a general purpose OS. VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) sets a new bar for security and reliability because its smaller code base represents a smaller “attack surface” with less code to patch. This small footprint and hardware-like reliability also enable VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) to be built directly into industry standard x86 servers. VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) was designed with simplicity in mind. Its menu-driven startup and automatic configurations make it the easiest way to get started with VMware virtualization. 8.1 special system
